Doctors aren't required to say a Hippocratic oath, face no consequences for their actions and there are no laws to protect patients in Australia. Legally, doctors are ‘merely business people who don't have to treat you.' They do not advertise this and you only find out after making a complaint.
I've been to the same doctor for years this would not happen to me!
In 2008 I was sexually harassed by a doctor I'd seen for years. I refused his advance and made a complaint. He then told me to leave the surgery. I next chose a doctor who previously stated in a reference that he had ‘great respect’ for me. This one; Bennett, pretended to provide medical assistance only to formally, behind my back, state I was a liar and lacked intelligence. He also referred me to the wrong places, put me on the wrong waiting lists and refused to refer me to appropriate specialists. (H.Q.C.C. stated he did nothing wrong.)
My doctor is a woman she would never do this!
Don't be bias by gender. My young son was quite ill so I went to a different suburb and practice to seek medical attention for him. The female doctor refused to treat my child and I had to take him to hospital where we had to wait hours for treatment. No reason was provided.
What about their leaders, would they condone this?
Unfortunately yes, the last G.P. to refuse me treatment in 2012 was the 'Chair of Metro North Health' who stated in front of a witness that he would not render medical aid to me.
If I was seriously ill they would render medical assistance!
No. My serious injury has resulted in two blood clots and G.P. refused lifesaving medication! I have been refused pap smear tests despite having had 2 prior operations for pre cancer cells. The last G.P. I tried to get medical assistance from said he would do a pap smear and he cut me inside. He also said he would refer me to a spinal specialist for my injury, but never did.
Surely the Health Minister and the Premier would not let this continue!
I have written to both informing them of this situation and my need for correct diagnostics and treatment for my injury and neither have done anything to address this. I live in pain and disability every day since the accident which occurred in April of 2008. My whole existence since then has been pain and disability management. Performing everyday tasks can activate pain so intense and disabling I wonder if it is worth going on.
The ugly reality is - the medical industry can refuse you medical assistance, let you live in pain, slander your reputation, ruin you financially and potentially kill you off if you make a complaint!
THIS IS STATE SANCTIONED TORTURE AND POTENTIAL MURDER.
The horrific living nightmare the medical industry is inflicting on me demonstrates how these inequitable laws are being used and abused to refuse treatment and harm patients. Extensive spinal, nerve and vascular damage was covered up by mainstream medical industry. I slipped on slurry left by state government workers at my local T.A.F.E. I commenced legal action against the state government.
Those quacks that did see me billed Queensland Health to conceal my injury and therefore claim I was lying for money. I was sent for numerous x-rays and scans over the years, seeing doctors outside the area all the way up to a so called specialist on the ‘Terrace’. The one that was supposed to be representing me told me to strip to my underwear, lie down and spread my legs before telling me, ‘All doctors are friends.’ The one representing the state government stated in his report there was nothing wrong with me and it was his opinion that I made up the complaint.
I was offered a minimal amount I refused as it would not have covered pain medication and did not reflect the reality of the crippling injury that has ruined my life. I self medicate and lie on the couch most of the time. I've been forced to survive on Newstart for years.
Early June 2015 I went into debt to see chiropractor. One set of x-rays and consultation provided a diagnosis that makes sense and treatment that has helped. I created this series of videos to show the extent of injuries and to warn others.

Qld 'health' doctors defamed me and lied about my injury all these years to rob me of fair compensation and their attempt to smear my name failed as the truth is revealed.
In all other stations of our society; sexual harassment, bullying, gross negligence and malicious malpractice are not tolerated so why can this gang of ego driven, power mad caricatures be able to do this. I need justice to move on with my life and restore my family.
